PC Peripherals ram query

tiny confusion

i currently have 8 gigs of corsair xms 3 ram , can i add this

to it or specifically buy more xms3 , how much perfomance will dip due to this?

it depends. it may work. it may not work.

i would suggest there is a better chance of it working if you buy more xms3 kits ( there is not much price difference)

i myself had problems running xms3 4gb x 4 on some motherboards. in the end i was fedup and exchanged it for vengeance which worked properly.

i had problem running xms3 4gb x 4 on some gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h where as on some it worked.
