I Got My New System 6 Months Back With a Corsair 2GB DDR3 1333 MHz

However 6 Months Later With the sudden Huge drop in RAM prices I am Tempted To Upgrade to 4Gb (or Maybe More) in order To Make My PC More Future Proof

I Have Found Three options So far :

1.(Cheapest) Buy Another stick Of The Same RAM I Am Having And Enjoy Cheap dual Channel While Saving Some Money For My Netbook Fund :P

Link - eBay India: Corsair VS2GB1333D3 G 1333Mhz DDR3 2Gb Desktop RAM 10Yr (item 130474645224 end time 20-Jan-2011 01:02:22 IST)

2.(Moderate) Buy a CORSAIR XMS 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (OH,What a price:clap:)after selling my old 2GB DDR3 Stick for a Ridiculously Low Price (Got It For 2.6K 6 Months Back...Would Have To sell It For around .8K) and Enjoy High Performance But No Dual channel

UPDATE : Its Even Cheaper now : http://www.primeabgb.com/index.php?...oduct_id=3206&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53

3.(Costly) Wait till april and Get 8GB as advised By Some TEians For 3.5K

Kindly Help Me To Choose The Best Bang For The Buck,I Have No problem In waiting till April,Also I Will Be Happy if I dont Have To Sell My Old RAM.

What Will Be The % of Performance boost for a 4GB 1600 MHz XMS Stick against a 2*2GB 1333 MHz Value Stick?

Thanks For Listening....

There is no systematic trend to ram prices. Unlike prices of most other components, RAM prices are highly volatile. Understand that there is no guarantee that you can get 8GB RAM for 3.5k in April. Some thing happens in Taiwan to disrupt production and the RAM prices would sky rocket instantly. The possibly of getting 8GB for 3.5k is just as likely as not getting even 2GB RAM for 3.5k. I have seen cases of RAM prices doubling in less than 2 days. So don't make plans based on how much RAM prices decrease over a period of time.

Okay So 2 votes against Option 1 /1 Against 2 /1 Against 3

In bandthwidth yes... but in day to day task u wont see much difference ;)

No the XMS range by Corsair is a more OC friendly component with minimum premium attached to it, but you might not see the same performance boost as you expect, not sure wait for others to pitch their views.
