PC Peripherals Ram Upgrade

I was thinking of ugrading with 2gb + 1gb way (like it is seen in many laptops these days).

If i use 2gb + 1gb ddr2 module then does it enable dual channel mode?

Is there any difference performance wise in real world in [2gb +1 gb] vs [1.5 gb + 1.5 gb (if 1.5gb module exists)?

1.5 gb module doesnot exist.and to run ram in dual channel it should have of same size...

It won't be dual channel but 2GB + 1GB is more than enuf. Dual channel gives hardly 5% increase in some applicaions, so nothing to worry about. :cool2:

^^na it depends..dual channel does give more than 5% depends on the task.

Its better to get another 2gb stick to enable Dual channel also.......
