CPU/Mobo Rampage III Black edition

Overclocking prowess is
obviously something that ASUS is
talking up here. The Rampage III
Black Edition is kitted out with a
digital VRM design, features such
as ROG Connect for overclocking
mastery and, interestingly, ROG
iDirect which lets you use an
iPhone or iPad to dabble to a
certain extent, thanks to
Bluetooth technology.
ASUS' ROG ThunderBolt
expansion card is another selling
point. Talked up as going all out
to deliver exceptional LAN and
audio performance, it uses a
dedicated Network Processing
Unit (NPU) from Bigfoot
Networks - the Killer E2100 - and
on the audio side of the
equation, adopts XONAR audio
technology and a built-in
headphone amplifier to pump
out the sound.

quick reading, check out the black pcb, it really looks cool.

Following on from last year’s awards for the Rampage III Extreme and G73 and G53 laptops, the ROG team has once again received the internationally coveted reddot design awards for its latest G74 gaming laptop and Rampage III Black Edition motherboard.

The Rampage III Black Edition won the award for its advanced heatsink design and innovative combination of advanced LAN and audio card with built-in headphone amplifier, on the same expansion card.

The international reddot design award ranks among the largest and most famous design competitions in the world. Each year, an international jury reviews and evaluates the submitted products according to stringent criteria, including the degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, formal quality, ecological compatibility and durability of the product.
