CPU/Mobo RAMs of different frequency ?

When i bought my laptop (almost 10 months ago) i told the guy over there to make the RAM upgrade to 4GB from 3GB onboard.

he did upgrade the RAM that time but i never bothered about what he has put inside the laptop.

Today i downloaded CPU-Z and saw that i have two different RAM frequencies showing up there when i tested on my laptop. Googled about that but from what i read i got only a little.

So posting it here to get to know about it.

1) Will there be any problem if different frequency RAMS were used?

2) How do i know the maximum frequency and RAM capacity that my mobo supports ?

3) Is it better that i get rid of the current RAM and upgrade ?

there wont be any problem......both rams will run @ the lowest frequency[533 in this case].

The ram will run at the lower frequency ie 533mhz , click memory tab in CPUz to check the speed

thanks guys.... can you shed some light on these also

Most if the new laptops support upto 8 GB of memory. SO would advice to get the 2x4GB 1333Mhz G.Skill from prime@1200. Always running matched modules is better.

Thats my question vivek.. how do i know what all frequencies are suppported by my laptop's mobo ?

And yes its upgradable till 8 GB

Don't bother about the frequencies. Get a 1333Mhz module. If supported, it will work @ 1333. Else will down clock to 1066.

it would be better if you would head to Intel website and check your CPU specification... If your laptops processor memory controller officially supports 1333MHz RAM then the RAMs would work at their rated frequency if not then they would get downclocked to 1066MHz...
