Random disconnections on airtel?

HI guys,
This is a frequent problem i have been facing,
im using a 220 BXI beetel modem,
The thing is frequently every 2 hours or so the internet gets disconnected,
the link light the modem goes off,and takes some time to return(sometimes about 1 hr),I read online that this problem could be handled effectively by switching off the modem and turning it back on after 5 mins.

this does not seem to work for me,even worse sometimes theres no internet connection after 9 00pm and the connection does not work until morning..
I'm on 999 unlimited plan @ 384kbps..
 
Yes, me too been experiencing this lately though not as frequent as 2hrs. When I wake up every morning it is always in disconnected state. But restarting the modem has worked for me.
 
i think that you should complain to cc about this problem and i hope they will do something, if the modem belongs to 'em then most prolly they 'll give u a new one
 
ok i've been through this before. when i first got my airtel connection, it was fine for a year without any disconnections... when suddenly this started happening. i suffered for about 3 months with the idiots from airtel who even once told me that it was because my Nod32 trial had expired.

i finally fought with them and managed to get them to replace my modem. no issues ever since. my friends went through similar stuff as well.

ask them to change your modem and see. it's most likely the issue.
 
they didn't charge me anything... but then i had been fighting with them for close to a month and a half to get them to come and do it. i was very close to disconnecting my connection altogether so that could have played a part in them not charging me :P
 
Same problem I faced.... mine was Beetel 220BX... I was so frustrated that got the line changed ~3-4 times but the problem remained... Changed the MODEM to another 220BX & still same problem....

Then I got it changed to my current 110BXI... Now its working good... I had used 220BX continuously since last 12-14 months.... though I use to restart it daily but it was working for the rest of the time continuously...

I do believe it failed with some internal problem 'coz of overuse.... It use to get pretty hot... :(

Also MODEM is free with AIRTEL... its rent is already included in every plan.... So you are safe there...
 
same problem here too, real piss off, i cant even play dota now, modem resets evry 10-15 mins. I got a 220BX, i have called those ppl up, lets see what they do..
 
i went through two 220BX modems which game me the same problem after many months of usage. it'd get very hot.

now i'm using a 220BXI (or could be BX1... it's black in colour) and i don't have any disconnections at all.
 
I'm using 110BXI, no issues at all. May be you could call and ask for a replacement of your modem asap. I know how hard it'd be to get disconnected now and then.
 
I've also been bugged from this problem in the past and more often than not, it's always been the modem which is the culprit.

Anyway nowadays modems are kinda cheap, and if the modems in question are not rented out, do your research get a good modem, and you'll be good to go..
