Well, I tried to book tickets from bookmyshow on the first of this month. I tried twice and both times the website stopped responding after entering my transaction code for my CC.

Anyway since it was not working, I went ahead and booked on the website of that particular theater itself, but after waiting for more than an hour. After a few days I see two charges for a total of 1.3k on my card. So today I called bookmyshow and they asked me to write in to their helpdesk.

I wrote in and they have decided that they have sent me an email and sms for each of the bookings, which I have clearly not received. As per them the transactions are valid. As per me I never got an sms or email confirmation from them.

I have replied on their email stating the same, but have little hope of them doing anything about it. I have already raised the issue with my bank as well.

I really fail to understand their business policies and this is probably the third time this has happened to me from bookmyshow.

I really dont care about the amount as its not much, but they seem to love fleecing customers and I am sure others have faced this issue as well. They seem to loose connection specifically after entering your transaction passwords...

This is the last time I use bookmyshow.

Mods - please move this thread to the right section in case I have posted in the wrong sub section.

For this type of ticket does not one have to go with the SMS/e-ticket print/booking ID to the ticket out and get a 'hard' printout of the ticket foil before entering..? You could get it verified that you never took a print out from the ticket window for the specific cinema hall..?

Anyways, BMS is an aggregation service. As usual, they hardly hold any responsibility for a mess up like this. Typical. Sorry to hear about your issue though. :(

Yes it is an aggregation service. Anyway I am not really worried about the money part, but am stumped at their response more than anything else.

^^You have to take printout / show SMS at the counter and collect the tickets

In case of few cinemas like Inox you have this unique code which you punch at that kiosk and it dispenses the ticket.

Just to be safe check for phishing softwares on your PC. I have been using BMS from the past many years and not once have I faced any issue. These days, you don't even need to show an E-ticket or an SMS, all you have to do is carry the CC from which you used to book the ticket and get it verified at the ticket counter. Email some top level management at BMS about this issue, usually such emails generate a quick response.

Here is what i do in case of failed transaction, I callup the "Online Vendor" or my Card Customer care to check if the money has been debited and if it will be refunded. I usually wait for sometime before beginning the next transaction, better to lose 3-4rs in Phone calls than worrying abt bigger amount later!
