Since past few days, I am facing a strange rapidshare problem. I have a paid (premium) RS account. Since past week or so, my RS downloads sometimes just simply stop midway. It looks like as if - the rapidshare servers have suspended data transfer or something. Pausing downloads and restarting etc have no effect. New RS downloads simply don't start.

Only thing that I can do is turn off computer for an hour or so. After an hour when I start the computer, RS downloads resume normally.

Please note that rest of internet browsing or torrent download etc is not affected at all, the problem is only with RS downloads.

Is anyone else facing the same problem? I am in NCR region and use Airtel's 1mbps unlimited connection.

So its definitely not a RS problem!

I wonder if the problem is due to Airtel's IP allocation in my area (Greater Noida). Is it possibly that whenever I start internet, Airtel dynamically allocates me an IP which is being used by several others? So if one of these user starts RS download, it automatically stops for me? Am I making sense?

Yep, have the same problem around here(Kerala, using BSNL EVDO).RS just closes all active connections and resumes after a short period(usually 5-10 minutes).I think its part of their server maintenance or else network congestion is the culprit.

Confirmed here as well. I'm using the latest jDownloader app, and past few days my downloads just drop to a min 20kbps and then after a few mins shoot back up again to my normal 250kbps (Airtel UL 2Mbps).

I do hv problems with RS downloads... I am a free RS user.. I use JDownloader and for the past few days my downloads are pretty damn slow... the data comes in short bursts... vaying from 3.00KBps to 36KBps...

for most of the time the download seems to be running at 2 - 3KBps speed... really pathetic :-[

:cool2:

Man, I have the same exact problem with RS downloads in IDM. It all goes well, then after a while, it keeps on downloading, but the file never gets downloaded completely... I restart and everything is back to normal...

im on Airtel 1mbps and have an RS account, been dnloading non stop for the past week without any problems.. but i have noticed that when i m dnloading 1 file at a time the speeds are very erratic jumping from 3 kBps to 160, but if i start 2 files together.. the conn gets maxed out and stays at 140 KBps constantly..

Hi pals,

I am using rapidshare premium with 512kbps UL connection. I am using jdownloader for managing the downloads. The speeds are erratic ranging from 30 KB/s to 80 KB/s, also in parallel i run a torrent which gobbles up around 40 KB/s (upload +download). Is the speed normal or there is some issue with the connection? please help
