The very first one based on the 60's TV series was shit.
And the Schumacher movies aren't even worth talking about.
Tim Burton's Batman (the first one) was the only good one until Batman Begins showed everyone how it's done. If you've read Year One, it's an almost perfect on-screen adaptation of it.
The second Burton movie was average, never liked it much. His portrayal of the Penguin was simply ridiculous.
imo Bale is much better suited to play the part than anyone else who has ever done so. This was the first time I enjoyed the Bruce Wayne parts as much as the Batman parts.
