Isn't that really smart of him to deliberately release his film alongside one of this year's biggies, knowing full aware that Bodyguard's release date was announced close to a year before? He can then blame the film's debac
le on the fact that it released alongside a biggie, apart from clamouring for public sympathy with statements like the one he has made.

I watched a recent interview of his and he actually explained his reason to release his film next to bodygaurd. The reason was that a lot of independent films are trying to do something different these days, as is the case with most such movies, they are a dud at the box office inspite of receiving critical acclaim. So rather than releasing his film next to these numerous small Independent films, he would rather release it next to a Biggie like bodygaurd. He believes his audience is quite different and would go for his film irrespective of another bog release the same week.

@Gannu : The reviews have been good so far. I am yet to see the movie, so can't comment on a personal level. But I am a huge Anurag kashyap fan, everything he is associated with is usually great. I recently watched "Shaitaan" which was brilliant.

^One of my friends precisely shares the same thoughts on Kashyap as you do and went to watch the movie last Friday with a lot of hope and was disappointed. :p

Kashyap is more like those indie game devs. to me.

What I like about him is the fact that he is extremely humble and a down to earth person. I cannot find his latest interview but check out this interview to know what I am talking about.

Rise of the Plane of the Apes - 8.4/10

That rating will hold if they continue in the same way and make sequels. Maybe a reboot of the franchise, that would be nice.

The prestige- 10/10

what a Fu*kin movie.this movie had everything and I mean everything.two great actors,an equally fantastic story.this movie is shawshank class.

Rise of the Plane of the Apes - 8.3/10

James franco was okay, Saddi Frida Pinto was fine with her appearance, but the real star was SRK in the movie.

Damn the lad acted well! When he said 'No' in the movie.. whoa.. everything stood still. Nicely done.

Haasil - 5/10; great performance by Irfan, a couple of nice songs but a super-retarded happy ending. This movie would have been so much better with a darker ending.
Shagird - 8/10; entertaining and better than I expected. Not a rip-off of Training Day btw.

V for Vendetta : 9 / 10

V for Vendetta is probably the next best movie that I saw after ThePrestige . Sheer beauty !

VFV - highly over rated movie IMHO, didn't like it.. though The Prestige is just mind blowing.. one of the best movies, I'd say..
