Rate the Last Movie You Saw...

Marco (2024) (6/10)
Went to pvr for this one, i don't know if my ears have become sensitive to loud noise or the volume levels were just high for the particular screening, the loud sound was unbearable for me and i had to keep my finger on the ears for the entire duration of the movie
Talking about the movie, the movie had same storyline as animal and there were extreme violence scenes that I can't get off my mind to this day. I knew this was A rated movie but wasn't expecting it to be this extreme, the house killing was particularly very traumatizing for me.
I'll always check the parental guide on imdb before watching a movie and will limit myself to watching these type of movies at home because there will be atleast an option to skip the scenes.

It is a legendary movie.
Made Manoj Bajpayee a star.

See Shool too. If not yet seen
What class movie both Satya and Shool.
It was telecasted (Telugu version) so many times in our tv channels, but I never bothered thinking it's just another crap gangster movie, but recent re-release caught my attention.

I just wish we had a better 4k or full hd version on ott. This movie deserves more applause.

Will have to see other related movies like Company and D as well.

That movie was epic. RGV's movies in the 90s were something else. Something happened to him in the 2000s. He now makes D grade movies and is now in jail (3 month jail) for financial fraud. He even did something nasty (on video during interview) where he licked one girls toe. What a fall from grace!!! Would not be surprised if he dies a lonely death on the road.

Yes.
That guy was too good.
Even Company movie was superb.
He still inspires many directors.

Yes God knows what happened to him.
But I must say Bollywood also makes it very difficult for such directors .
Example even Anurag Kashyap has been vocal about not getting enough support to make his kind of movies.

The whole industry is becoming a mafia gang revolving around few big families.

His philosophy has changed a lot and is very "different" guy compared to regular people. I don't think even he too cares how he goes away. He just enjoys his life as he wants. He is one of those guys who doesn't care about what others think about him. I wonder how his family got over it.

I'd say 'it always has been'... Most of the other industries too are controlled heavily by big families.

Yes in almost all the "Woods" entire film industry is controlled by respective big families. Produced either by them or their relatives or friends.
Anurag Kashyap was complaining about this mafia in bollywood recently. Nowadays I am seeing movies from Rajkumarrao likes not big heroes movies because these fellows are bringing good entertainment than the big families heroes and heroins.

Since you guys are talking about 90s cinema. Here is one from the golden age of Hong Kong cinema

Finding it was a complete fluke. I felt like listening to a song by the Mamas & Papas and YT throws up this video after which I had to watch the movie because the actress is very eye catching. She likes the song and plays it numerous times throughout the movie to good effect.

She's not even an actress more of a pop singer and you can hear her singing the Mandarin version of the famous Cranberries song in the movie.

The song is haunting and she plays her part great. There isn't any other movie like this one that captures a whimsical, nostalgic but hopeful vibe like this one.

The cinematography in this movie is really good. For example this is a fan clip from the first story. Of which there are two. The first clip is from the second story.

The director Wong Kar Wai has other well known movies as well.
