Dear Mods & Members,

We should have a thread which could enable users to rate products & distrbutors all over India. This way users would be able to make thier decision on purchase of products from vendors easier. After a certain threshold the product/distrbutor should be totally banned from TE. Now days products offer very low pricing and 5-10 years warranty but most of them do not abide it when it comes to RMA or any problems with the products. I have been following up with Media Man & Prime for RMA of my Palit graphic card for last 2 1/2 months but all in vain. I am helpless and at the mercy of the Distributor / Manuafacturer. If i would have know the kind of service before hand. I would have never brought the product all together.

Please input your suggestions.

hardware warranty is never done through the place you buy stuff. its always through the authorised service centres. even with a simple read through the hardware section posts, you could have gained this knowledge. no need to blame shop owners or dealers for that.

tell me, do you get warranty service for tv sets, refrigerators, or other appliances from the dealer you bought or from the manufacturer service center?
 
I am not blaming any shop owner. Please read the title "Rating & Banning Products/Distributor" . I am trying to give every user the power to rate a product/distrbutor based on his experience. There are thousands of distrbutors in the market for a single product. All warranties are serviced by them. Distributor's have sub distributors they inturn have furthur sub distributor's. And when the hardware run's into trouble during the warranty period it becomes troublesome to get thru all the guys in the chain. This is a big game and the people who suffer are the end user's.
 
The indian distributors of world famous products are dirty, cunning people who fail to even take a look at the customer after sales. Like xfx under rashi.
So, let there be a new thread where people can rate products regarding their A.S.S. So new buyers can choose the brand easily.
 
so what difference will it make? in the end due to some reason one person or the other has, all distributors will be banned. who will you buy the computer stuff from then? will you import it from usa at double prices?

this is India. you wont get top quality service anywhere. you have to live with it for the rest of your life here. unless the mentality of indian's changes for the betterment of the country, nothing's gonna happen here. just forget it.

Poor sales front or the horrible a.s.s, like it or not, we still go ahead and make our purchases and do the needful, some are happy and some aren't, end of the day life just goes on.

So move on. :)

That is what users should know about. How many people have faced issues with Rashi. Why buy products which have poor sales & support. One or the other day products which have bad service & support will be thrown out of the market or the distributor will pay the price. Can these companies like ASUS/GIGABYTE/PALIT do this in the US counterpart They will be thrown out of business immediately. So why not change something on TE where every user is aware of what he is buying and not just going by specs and 10 years warranty and so on.... Why not change our mentality atleast on TE and make an informed dicision before buying. As a matter of fact every seller should also mention if the products he is selling is a direct distributor purchase or a sub-purchase.

I think SAME dealer or distributor may try to do well & give good service due to FEAR of Losing Distributorship OR Bad FAME (may be :().

Some where I read that Products you Bought from Prime..(gulbhir) get hassle free warranty... how it can happen... is it special honor for particular distributor ....

Some Sellers are CHINDHICHOR they think "I didn't made even Rs.100/- from the product sold to Mr.A, why should I waste my time & money over phone call to help him & reduce my margin further."

... even though seller makes only Rs.100/- from sale, but due to faulty product/service the Buyer may loss Rs.1000 or more. When seller care for his Rs.100/- why he don't think about customers Rs.1000/-?

... the day we/everyone starts thinking ^^ this way we can make GREAT INDIA... lets we TEan pledge that from today onward we starts thinking in same way & I'm sure that First Morning of 2010 rise with SATISFACTION for Dealer & Buyer :)

PS: What I post in this thread is my experience with few H/W dealers from my city, so don't take it as against ANY DEALER on TE or Dealer community across India :)

Don't buy from Seller who didn't help you with ASS, go to other Reputed Seller. Post on forums, alert your friends & relatives & prospect buyers (if possible) about your experience.

I'm sure this will make difference One Day. :)

.. it's from manufacturer service center, once when I called service center directly... they didn't attend me but as soon as I call to my dealer about same just within 3 hrs I got ASS. :hap2:

... so IMO dealer too can play good roll to avail us good after sales service :)
 
It is a good idea. Though we (as in member and staff) need to work out how it can be implemented so that it is not abused. Rating only, banning is superfluous.

If you have 3 manufacturer/distributor options then you can know who offers better customer experience pre and post sales, and several such criteria. Other factors remaining the same, it can help in deciding (otherwise depending on your priorities).
 
@op, no one gets thrown out of usa for bad a.s.s. read the comments/ feedback on newegg and amazon for doa products etc and you will see they are in same waters as we are.
