It was supposed to be a Wii U exclusive but now Rayman Legends—after that controversial delay—will be coming to a total of four systems on September 3rd. Along with Nintendo’s home console, the action platformer will be hitting the PS3, Xbox 360 and PlayStation Vita.

There's good news and bad news, Rayman fans. First, the bad news: Rayman Legends—the follow-up to the fun, much-praised Rayman Origins—has been delayed until this September, about six months after its original February 26th release date. The good news is that PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will also be getting their own versions of the same game in the same time period.
In a press release issued today, Ubisoft marketing exec Geoffroy Sardin said the following:
"We heard from many Xbox & Playstation owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system. We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game."

The subtext here is the fact that the Wii U, while selling respectably, isn't the runaway hit that its predecessor was and Ubisoft wants to earn as much as possible off of the next Rayman title. It's going to be interesting to see how the dev team adapts the asymmetrical design ofLegends—parts of which were originally meant to take advantage of the Wii U two-screen capability and the gamepad's touch input—to Sony and Microsoft's consoles. We'll have more on Rayman Legends as news develops.

The first installment was great on the ps3. Hoping this one will continue from where the previous one left off.

Ah this is good news! Had an amazing time co-op'ing Rayman: Origins on the PC with my roomie. The last few levels I recall was a pain. We had to time the jumps perfectly.

The title has been received extremely well all over. Metascores for the PS3 and X360 averaging over 90!

That's definitely good news. Time for some co-op! Shall wait for my roomie to come back from his short vacation and complete LP3 in the meantime. :joyful:

Started the title 2 days back (couldn’t play yesterday because we went for The Conjuring and dinner thereafter; had gotten very late by then!) and the game is pretty awesome as the reviews say. :playful:

First off, no major changes from Rayman Origins in terms of gameplay. Straightforward platformer. The first player gets to play as Rayman and the second as a Teensy. Not sure how to switch characters - we wanted to spawn Globox but we did not fiddle much and got drawn into the game quickly. Each level has a bunch of Teensies to be rescued with two of them hidden in secret areas. Rescuing them unlocks more levels. Each level wouldn’t take beyond 10 minutes for completion and it is fairly a simple ride. Level design is so colorful and amazing just like Origins. Murfy, a fly assists Rayman from time to time by helping us slice ropes, tickling jumbo enemies etc.

The menu music wasn’t inspiring unlike Origins which had a very good and catchy score. Black bars appear for 16:10 displays but since we are playing on the big screen, this isn’t an issue. There are not many settings for video/graphics that can be changed. IIRC, it was just the resolution, video quality and v-sync.

Shall resume the game today. I think I saw at least 10 major chapters. Each chapter has at least 10 levels! This is going to be lengthy just like Origins.
