not worth it....

tried mario galaxy with the emulator...

while the visuals/fps were ok...the controls with x360 controller were very bad

Ubisoft sent out a press release announcing that Rayman Origins, a high-definition, 2D side-scrolling, platforming adventure in full 4-player co-op, will also be available for PC, starting March 30th, 2012. Wow this is awesome news! Rayman Origins has been regarded as one of the better 2D platformers which came out last year and was very well received.

Thanks for posting #teracore. I've merged the thread with the older one and moved it to the PC section.

Co-op and PC version? F*ck yeah! Good thing I didn't play the console version just yet.

Also, what's this I see, No DRM for the PC version:

We're announcing Rayman Origins for PC right the hell now! Also, retail versions will have NO DRM. None, zero, zip. Ohemgee!

Oh this blows, the co-op is restricted to local-only. WTF?

With the announcement of release dates for 3DS and Vita, there are vanishingly few platforms left that won't have Rayman Origins. Now the PC joins the platforming party, with a release in both Europe and the United States on March 29. The PC version retains the 4-player co-op functionality of the console versions, and also retains its local-only restriction.

Surprisingly, the retail release will have no DRM. The download version, for "all e-shops including Steam," will use "only an activation key." Pre-orders of the digital Origins from the Ubishop will also include a free copy of Rayman 2.

No LAN also?

Yep there's no LAN based co-op.

Started the title with my roomie yesterday and we are loving it! Reminded us of the good ol' Super Mario days. 2D side-scrollers are always fun no matter how old we grow by the day - most of us enjoyed playing the 8-bit Mario during our childhood days and I reckon we could still enjoy it. And with co-op gameplay it even gets better with all the fun and excitement doubled.

Initially we had a hard time configuring the controls with our X360 controllers since the option to switch between the keyboard and controller appeared to be missing from the in-game options. After manually configuring each key and assigning it to the respective functions for both the players, we were all SET! Gameplay appears to be very straightforward without many complicated puzzles or platforming as such. We've seen worse - Trine, Trine 2, Super Meat Boy anyone? Switchable characters between each chapter are pretty cool. The level designs are nicely done - vivid, lively and colorful with plenty of attention to detail but may be not as bright as the Trine series was. We felt the controls to be a bit finicky initially but I suppose we are getting used to it gradually as we progress. There are secret locations hidden throughout each level and we could explore them to find many collectibles such as the Electoons locked up inside cages by the enemy AI - rescue these tiny little creatures and collect them to unlock additional levels. We particularly loved the concept of rescuing the partner in case of a death - they float around like a balloon and the other player who must be alive can rescue the partner by popping it. However if both of them die together, the game restarts from the nearest save point. Enemies are mostly the classic 2D platformer type with boss fights at the end of each world. The sound composition is spot on. As on yesterday midnight, we have completed the first world and the first few levels from the second one. Looks like one very good TP.
