Guy's, have to get a new gaming keyboard and these are my choices

Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Elite

Logitech G510.

Back lighting is a mandatory requirement and quality of back lighting matters to me. Personally, I would prefer the Blackwidow over the G510 as its a Mechanical Keyboard, but I have been hearing that many of these units have manufacturing defects/build quality issues due to which one or more keys have problems (getting stuck etc) and that getting a fully functional unit is a matter of luck. Keys getting stuck on a mechanical keyboard is ridiculous as one of the primary advantages that I had in the past with mechanical keyboards is keys never going bad/stuck and I don't like the prospect of potentially having to RMA a keyboard as soon as I get it.

So I am considering the Logitech G510 as well although I can't seem to find it anywhere in stock.

Can people using either of these keyboards post your views.

The Razer BlackWidow ultimate is better than G510 but it is known to have degrading keycaps over time.

The MAIN difference between that logitech and the black widow is the keyswitch, and the logitech board uses what we call a rubber dome switch (trash, honestly) compared to the BWU cherry blue switches.

Almost any mechanical keyboard is far superior to the logitech,it's up to razers built quality.

I've seen in many searches that The Deck legend is superior to these two so also have a look at that,in the end it's upto to you i'd say go for razer.

I know that any mechanical keyboard is better than the Logitech as I have used mechanical keyboard in the past, but any mechanical keyboard will not do for me as back lighting is mandatory for me at the moment and that is why I wanted to get the Blackwidow Ultimate. Otherwise, I would have just bought another USB compatible TVS Gold.

The main reason I am considering the G510 is because Blackwidow is known not only for degrading keys caps, but also for defective keys out of the box on many units which makes keys like space bar not work properly.

If you are open to importing the keyboard have a look at corsairs stuff ...... recently I have stopped recommending razer stuff due to their various build quality issues.

Then G510 would be the safer choice since many unconvincing reviews about blackwidow,i am 'thegatekeeper' by the way changed my username to jakob.

I have a blackwidow, though not ultimate, but have not have any sort of problem with it, I would recommend the Blackwidow because the mech keys are simply awesome, and switching back to "dome" switches, no matter how much high quality just feels rubbish

Razer is crap.I have a Razer Lycosa Mirror Edition.First the Enter key got stuck.RMA'ed it and got a new Lycosa KB.After this sometimes various keys of the KB don't work.I have to restart the mcahine for these keys to work.Plus the numpad 0 key is a total goner.

To add on top of these woes Razer has a 1 yr warranty against Logitech's 3 yr warranty. Before this I had a basic Logitech KB which served me flawlessly for 4yrs+ and is still running without a hitch now.Seriously I am never gonna buy Razer again in spite of their flashy marketing.

Razer, same wearout problem with the Mice and KB, plus shitty warranty. Dont buy as everyone here is suggesting.

Ok, can anyone point me to where I can buy the Logitech G510. There are a few on eBay selling at 4.9k, but I guess that is on the higher side.

what bout the alienware tact x ?

it has customizable light colors ( 20 to choose from ) and is well built .

i am also looking in to keyboards , i was considering the tact x over the black widow and the logitech.

.... or am i missing something (the reason why people dont recommend the tact x )

why not get logitech G19

http://www.junglee.com/Logitech-920..._rd_p=280733627&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=807881031

Marcus and Tarey: you may have problems with your Razer products but I am solely baised towards razer because it has mechanical keys, not because i am Razer fan

I have posted three links where you can buy one:

Logitech G510-eBay ~ 4999+149(shipping) lowest I could find on eBay

The seller is good I have bought a few items from him before

Logitech G510-SMCInternational ~ 4650

Logitech G510-Deltapage ~ 4725

i know that Mechanical keys are way above our membrane keys but I am wary of the name Razer.Seriously if a 4.5k KB like my Lycosa has basic button issues then can you you expect their mechanical cousins to be much better?mechanical keys can take a lot more abuse than a membrane key but can a Razer key do that compared to a basic Logitech which goes on and on.

Is the Deck Legend available in India? The website gives its price as $172, which is over 9K, excluding import duty. That's a huge price for a keyboard, mech or not.

Guy's is the Corsair K90 available some place. As per articles on sites, its already available in India for around 6.5k, but I don't see it listed anywhere. Prime ABGB has the M60 & M90 listed, but no joy as far as the keyboards are concerned.

Phew good thing you saw that K90, thats the only thing to get imo. Would have liked it more if it came in that same exact shape and features without the macro's. Wouldnt touch razer and the blackwidow has its fair share of reported issues logitech is great but its not mechanical. Corsair K90 should be awesome if I could thats what I would get.

Wait till you can get your hands on it dont settle for anything else it will be well worth it.
