RDR2 or Cyberpunk 2077?

cyberpunk is strictly just one tier below witcher3 now for me, visual fidelity aside, cyberpunk is one of the densest city environments you can find in any game, with Phantom Liberty's fixes, CDPR almost delivered what they promised, its just a pity they didnt make a new DLC for it, but I am assuming they just wanted to leave cyberpunk behind asap.

my current rig cant handle cyberpunk at its full visual fidelity, so I have held off on playing Phantom Liberty, but hell, that is one game I'll say, deserves buying a GPU for.

RDR2 was a masterpiece and like most others have said here - I too wish I could forget about the game to relive it. What a game.
That said, CP2077 too was really good, and I played it at launch. I picked it up again for the Phantom Liberty expansion and that was incredible too, but personally, I'd much rather go for RDR2. I remmeber seeing it for 999 on Steam a while ago, don't remember when. But either way, you can't go wrong with either.

I too was never into turn based games. Started baldurs gate but didn't finish. But exp 33 brings quite a few twists in the genre.. check out some of its gameplays. Exp 33 has been a brilliant experience for me - and I'm terrible with a controller.

Also, Arthur Morgan was originally rejected by the community when RDR2's first trailer hit. Everyone was like, "We want John Marston as a playable character." I was one of them.

He was viewed as a typical Wild West meathead.

He became one of the greatest characters in video game history, surpassing even Marston, in my personal opinion.

After you finish the game, re-watch the OG trailer. Hearing Arthur's voice will be like hearing an old, close friend.

Also, even after several years, I'll still remember Arthur Morgan. Rockstar created a legend.

Got a question regarding Red dead: Do we need to play the 1st one before the RDR 2 ?

I frankly hate the pricing of the RDR 1 port. 15 year old game port costing this much is awful and it doesn't even get good discount, at best 20%.

Play 2 first. It's a prequel to the OG. The story will make more sense if you don't mind the jarring graphics downgrade.

Also, @Woonz, stick with ONE horse throughout the game and establish that bond.

You'll know why it matters and how hard it'll hit you towards the end of the game.
 
Ill go against popular opinion - Cyberpunk imo has better writing, atleast i definitely liked it more. KR stuff worked very well and i like the theme.
I haven't played the expansion yet, going by reviews its even better than main game.
Music is better too ( not radio though, that is mostly crap). RDR2 doesnt use music as much, they prefer to keep it occasional i think.

Red dead has probably the best open world sim so far. Story is good and extensive, but not great imo. It does have a lot of detail and things that can easily be missed. Loads of stuff.
Its a very good game, obv. Slow paced. Play it slow.
Graphics - different things. Textures i think is a weakness in cyberpunk, rockstar makes detailed games that others cant compete with.
But lightening/engine obv cyperpunk is better. RDR2 is also very very blurry, you have to use tricks to make it sharper ( maybe DLSS4 fixes it dunno)
Dark night riverside + oled = Beautiful. RDR2 water is much better.

Witcher 3 over both of them. All great games. CDPR makes great games.

If I had a choice to do it all over again, I would play the rdr1 first, rdr2 hits really different after you have played rdr1, I won't go into it further since that would be extreme spoilers.


As for playing rdr1, the pc port is meh, just play the xbox 360 on an emulator. graphically both are same, it's just the pc port has some QoL features and that's it

Yes, it was on sale for INR 1039 this January. The lowest it had been since launch.

The phrase "I'm afraid" spoken at the end of the quest will break you. You'll know why.

One thing I picked up from the game that really rings true, to quote Arthur - “We can’t change what’s done, we can only move on.”
