Re-installing Windows 8 64-bit

Little confusion, so seeking some clarification.
My Dell XPS M1530 gave up (will discuss its problem in another thread), and I had Windows 8 64-bit installed on it. And I had ordered the DVD as well from MS. Now, can I re-install the OS with this license key again on another system. As I understand the license was for one PC, and I am not able to find out on MSN that will I be able to use the same license key again on another PC if the first PC fails.
 
Win8 license is stuck to one pc only. Can't use it on new pc even if old pc gone bad.
Its tied to specific hardware and I don't think we can transfer license from one machine to another.
Just try using the DVD key. It may or may not work.
 
@Ts, just try your old key and if it activates then good. If not, try calling Microsoft helpline and say mobo fried or something like that.
