My initial impressions aim toward users who have Re1 and love it.

Recieved My RE262 yesterday. It was burnt in for arnd 5hrs by previous user. I played it for another2-3 hours.
For all those who love there Re1, they should try Re262. Its better than Re1 in every sense. I feel this time HM tuned thr Re1 driver to make this beautiful iem. If Re252 is more of Re0 + less of Re1 then Re262 is more of Re1 + less of Re0.

Apart from possesing good mids, wide soundstage and same quantity bass as of re1, it has good details, natural decay, instrument seperation, better textured bass(than Re1). String plucking and reverb can be heard and it seems very wonderful. It adds a 3D sense to the sound. Tones are thick and natural.

Treble is reccessed but extended. Cymbal crashes can be heard but not as prominent as someone might expect from analytical iem.

DAMAGES: 8.5K inc Shipping

Where the heck did you get it for 8.5k ? I thought it was $250 online. :S

I am seriously considering getting it if its selling for 8.5k.

^^ You don't add fuel to the fire ! :P

I have to save up for my DSLR upgrade as well. A new DSLR will set me back by at least 32k. :(

Why the heck did I have to take on 2 expensive hobbies ? :S

On the bright side I already like the RE1s signature so I really dont have to upgrade ! (Though I really want to ! :'( )

^ Aren't you tempted by mukulymn's impressions? If I am not wrong, this is one upgrade that won't disappoint you. I only hesitate because I already have too many. Otherwise, they'd been here long ago. Think about it - $150 + shipping :bleh:

^^ Damm you !!! :@

I Pmed the guy from London for $170 shipped. :(

My rational mind is really hoping that the guy will refuse to ship it to India. :ashamed:

This seems to be the perfect IEM for me. I also liked the FX700 and the Monster Turbine Miles Davis Tribute sound signature. But the FX700 had rather heavy housings so comfort would have been an issue and the Turbines seemed overpriced to me. The RE262 housings are made of plastic and IMO should be very light. Plus these IEM were designed for use with the Head-direct biflange tips which are my favourite tips by far. :D

oh Yeah i forgot to add
it fits better thn Re0 or Re1
its superlight and u dnt feel thm once they r in ears

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

Brendon if u can come to pune u can audition my re262 b4 buying

Brendon please get them ASAP ! I want to try them !! :D If I like them I will trade these with my RE-252 + some cash ! :P

^^ Ordered for them. :D

Though I am now scared after your TF10 experience as Royal mail charges 69 pounds minimum if you want insurance and that to for only upto 50 pounds value.

So I went ahead and asked for the 5 pound shipping which is without tracking or insurance. :O

The total cost without shipping is coming to 8015 bucks. Which is pretty much the max I was willing to spend.

And no thanks to Mr Esantosh for providing those links. :@

I had browsed head-fi FS section some few days back and felt happy that there were no RE262s for sale. Now that he posted 3 links I succumbed to temptation and bought one. Hopefully all the reviews I have read about them are spot on ! :P

^ Damn ! why without tracking :( No insurance is fine but tracking is must !

Anyways hope you get them before the meet in Jan :D This is seriously gonna be legendary.

@brendon,

See how "helpful" I can be :P

I actually found 6-7 links and only posted those links where sellers were willing to ship world-wide. Fortunately, I am not tempted by RE-262 ... so far. I'm afraid you'll have nice things to say about them and I'll get tempted :ashamed:

@esantosh - Yeah, my wallet hates your 'helpful' nature ! :D

@Faheem - They have tracking only till UK so I dont want to spend for that. I have asked the seller how much more I need to pay to get insurance. I have rechecked and I think it costs an additional 10 pounds for insurance upto 500 pounds. So I will have to add another 700 bucks to the total. But its ok for my piece of mind. Till your TF10 incident I never bothered with insurance. :(

I can the mids of re363 (edit thats RE262 :P ) are indeed great. but i wont say they ave re0 attributes ..!

well i m not sure about re363
but re262 mids seems much better to me thn re0
reverb, natural, clarity in mids, MUSICAL

which attribute of re0 outmatch re262 in mids

BTW i just found out something diff in re262 soundstage
while re1 soundstage seems very big and wide, re262 doesnt seem tht wide
i will double check on tht with re1 ths weekend

while depth lacked in re1, 262 provide u with good depth. Width and depth seems balance and feels like natural soundstage while re1 sounstage have the feeling of being artificial and forced

i dnt know whthr i made my point clear or not
when one hears both he will get to know tht why 262 soundstage is much better though not as wide as re1

hay :( , i edited my post before you posted !! ...( POLITICS ??:S)

and yeah you did make yourself clear, the treble is where i find them lacking. really the mids and bass are great , bass has better body than any IEM i have tried ( witht the stock single flange tip (med)) , the mids make the AKG feel dry in comparison ! :P . but treble is (though not rolled off is laid back to an extent where it just makes me sad :( ...though i have not heard the re0 , ihave read enough about it to say that re262 is far behind the re0 in any thing regarding the highs :(

this is cause the FX700 are getiing more head time ...though in some songs the re262 ...makes me go :D !!

Re262 doesnt lack EVERYTHING in treble when compared with Re0
yup its laidback and to an extent tht u wont get the sparkle u get from re0 but details are still thr and cymbals in 262 are natural but laidback whereas in re0 its more analytical and lifeless
In end it all comes to individual preferences.I like natural feel in treble and some laidback character but i cant deny tht sometimes i wana have more sparkle in 262.

for me 262 is close to wht i prefer ,as by now, though still not thr
