i dunno why this happened, or how this happened, but this has happened, and it sucks. Since i reinstalled my OS some 20 days back, my reading/writing have dropped considerably to 3.1 mb/ps. Like for an example, and 8gb game takes 2 hours to install, and defragging a drive takes 20 hours.

my sandisc pendrive's reading speeds is STILL like 13 MB/sec

my hard disc is sata seagate 160gb

its not the SATA cable problem as i replaced the cable just 3 days ago thinking it was its problem.

i dunno what has happened, help someone?

1. See the health in HD Tune. Is it all Ok? Also your temp seems high.

2. Note ur CPU usage in HD Tune. This shows that your DMA seems to be disabled and you are using PIO mode for data transfer. So go to device manager and enable DMA mode for your SATA HDD Controller. This should do the trick.

i didn't understand that man, im quite a nub :s

go to control panel - system - hardware - device manager

expand IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers

Right click on "Intel ICH.." and properties

In these TABS that you will see now, check if DMA is enabled or set Off.
