Looks shady.

he is asking me to pay atleast 50% in advance by check in his account

That should raise the red flag.

Plus he's also giving the following free?

FREE ACCESSORIES WORTH Rs. 1999/- INCLUDED

1 X PREMIUM LEATHER CASE

2 X PREMIUM CRYSTAL CLEAR SCRATCH GUARD

1 X PROFESSIONAL GRADE CAR CHARGER

1 X SILICONE JELLY PREMIUM CASE BLACK

1 X DOTTED MESH HARD FLEXIBLE RUBBERISED CASE

Personally would avoid.

yes, also 2k worth of goodies free! A scam? Would be big if it is. He says 80 people booked the phone already and have paid him advance. :O

That's a lot of money

Looks like a scam for sure ..
Plus dont ever make the mistake of paying to his account in advance.
Always use Paisapay.

See, a simple thing which i could not understand.
His listing says :-
BUY NOW APPLE IPHONE 3gs and 4 BUY IT NOW PRICE 19,999 EACH HURRY 100 PCS ONLY

If this is the case, then why does not he list the items as Buy It Now and sell it for 19,999 rather than putting a single item on bid.

The surprising thing about the seller is that his rating is very good.(129), why would he spoil his rating. Mystery !!

Just try to request him to list the item as buy it now for 19,999.
And then pay via Paisapay.
Even if it would be a scam, you get back your money, so wont be an issue.

He says he can't put it on But it now for 20k cause other sellers will then complain about him on selling for less, the only option he gives is to pay to his bank account by check/cash deposit.

And as far as the ratings go, he only traded in very small things before.. <500 bucks i think. So may be he was making up his ratings to do a big scam and run away??

Also, if I pay him by check, what are the chances that I can get my money back in case he is a scam'er ?

pay via paisa pay..avoid direct payment..seller asking for direct payment to account..fishy..

and do not be surprised to get a replica..some ebaysellers have done it in past.

Also, he cannot take advance from buyers ..that too from 80 buyers on account of only one listing..thats like dealing outside ebay and is forbidden by ebay AFAIK.

Maybe Chandigarh guys can ask for a face to face deal and check out if it indeed is genuine. Most probably it isn't. Never pay via NEFT, always use paisapay.

Anyone senior TE member here from Chandigarh /???
Who could directly go and check ?
That could be the best option to check.

Yes, that would be good, if someone can meet him personally and collect phones..this would be an awesome deal :O

Matter reported to ebay.
The listing will be removed in approx 1 hour.
The customer personnel has agreed that it is a scam, they will cross check once again with the buyer..
You guys can report the same too on their toll free no 1800 209 3229.

definitely a scam, list a iphone for a bid at a very cheap price, get the attention and then say iphone for x amount, give your phone no and ask users to deposit cash, definately a scam, stay away.

Just to chime in, yes the account has been compromised. I have seen several such ads/postings in ebay.com aswell. They also insist on communication outside of ebay. It is 100% scam.
