Hey guys..

Imma gonna retire my 4 year old Sony DSC-P32 :P...

Served me well.

I need the following..
  • Atleast 6MP or Higher.
  • Very good battery life. My current dsc, kills its rechargable batteries after like 25 shots with Flash.
  • rechargable
  • Slim and compact. I go clubbing a lot so.. I need it to fit in my Pocket.
  • Good Flash, pics will be taken in Dark.
  • As cheap as possible!
Imma n00bie in Digicams, so..

I was looking at the Canon Powershot SD630, [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]Sony Cybershot DSC-T10 and [FONT=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]Sony Cybershot DSC-T100..

I think theyre kinda expensive though :/...

I've used the sony T series before... and Image quality isn't upto the mark. If the size is OK with you.... get the Canon A710 IS... its only 13 odd thousand on Sify. You can also go in for SD 800 IS, brilliant cam... and very compact.

Canon A560/570 if you are on a budget or Digital ELPH series with the ame specs.

I just bought a560, couldn't be happier with the image quality - even in the dark

Either the A710IS, (IS at that price = :O) or the T100 if you want style.

@ wolfff - The new T's have a better sensor and 5x Optical IIRC. And the T100 has a 3" LCD ;)

adi A710IS...great pics even indoors and while night shooting...

awesome looker, great colour combo...

you should get it for around 13K in camera gully...

^^ anish the LCD's just a battery hog...2.5 inches is enough...though the 5x optical zoom looks good. I prefer the contoured shape of the canon powershots though, less camera shake.

btw the IS on the A710 works quite well.

get a sony T7 if u can ..... its a excellent cam ..... my sis has one ...... whn i saw it first time i thot its all show and no go but results were fantastic ...... i just cudn't believe they can put all those things in such a small package ...... the cam is smaller/slimmer than many cell phones and pics quality is just awesome :)

Any idea How much the T7 is for?

Even I was looking at the T7... Its quite tempting for the slim size.

The Canon PowerShot A560 is a little thick for my liking. The stupid bulge on one side doesnt help as well.

Again the A710IS is bulky..

Preference = Slim and Good battery life, but still good pic quality.

The T7 sounds great according to this review >

Sony DSC T7 Review

Specially this bit..

Overall I was pleased with the image quality produced by the DSC T7. The stand out photo was taken indoors in low light. In fact it was a photo taken in complete darkness. It is well lit and the focusing is incredibly sharp considering the conditions the photo was taken in. Although this suggests the camera will perform very well in lowlight situations you do need to be aware that the range of the flash unit is limited compared to the majority of digital cameras. The maximum range is 2.6m.

I have a Sony 2007 Spring Catalogue..

It doesnt mention a T7, but the T10 is for Rs.22,000 MRP, and T5 is for Rs,18,000 MRP.

I did mention... :P..

I guess ill have to settle with 5.1 MP though... :/

Do remember that these two are difficlut to find together

# Slim and compact. I go clubbing a lot so.. I need it to fit in my Pocket.

# Good Flash, pics will be taken in Dark.

Most slim cams (SD800 included) fail to work well even under moderately bad light.....

It's due to a combination of two reasons,,,,one, a smaller CCD which cannot capture light as efficiently as larger CCDs on bigger cams

Two, a low powered flash

The Canon A series strikes perhaps a fair balance between size and picture quality/low light capapbilities

For points 4 & 5, so have to stick to Sony's T-Series.

I'd personally recommend you check the T10/20/100 (in that order).

Not really since all point and shoots have the same CCD size ;)

Its only the entry-level DSLR's which offer you a 22.5x15.7 (onwards) CCD.

Nicely put superczar...I totally agree.
I still recommend the A710IS. Buy a belt pouch and carry it around...

Agreed the PQ on the A710IS > Most P&S'es in that range, but the guy wants something to carry to a disc :P

When was the last time you went to a club with a belt pouch  ?

i think they have stopped manufacturing the T7 ...... anyways my sis got it from moscow ~1 year back for 16-17k ....... i saw one T7 here in chennai in a mall 2 month back ...... didn't asked for prices tho

here is one shot taken with T7

^ Check Alfa naa. Most probably will be cheaper. And get Uniross batteries/charger over the Sony :)

@ Rahul - The red is very saturated and there's severe lack of central sharpness. Good edge sharpness though, looks like there was a focussing mistake ;)

damn it !!!! ..... i just got sony 2300 for 1000 bucks :( ....... uniross was cheaper i thot its just some crappy brand ...... is it better than sony ??

^^Hehe the crappy brands generally give better battery life than the well known one. My impact battery lasts much longer than the oem canon battery in the 350D :P. Funny lol.

Ill be buying a DSC T10 + 1GB Mem Stick Duo + Extra Battery Pack..

how much is the Battery Pack for? Is uniross better?

Any idea of Prices of 512mb/1GB/2GB/4GB mem stick duos?
