Hi,
i am having AMD PHENOM II X4 940 BE processor on asus M3A78-EM Board.
kindly recommend a MB with usb 3 , SSD compatible and latest without changing the processor.
Thanks..

You'll have to replace your RAM as well, as all the new motherboards support only DDR3.

However, you've got a pretty good motherboard, and it should support SSDs without any issues. I don't think you'll feel the lack of SATA 6Gb/s unless you're running benchmarks.
You will notice the lack of USB3 if you use that a lot.

Anything less than a 9 series motherboard won't be much of an upgrade ( since they won't have SATA 6Gb/s). And since you're operating without a budget, you could get an enthusiast class board like:

oopps, missed that you've got an AM2+ processor.
Nope, it won't work with the motherboard I mentioned, or any other m/b with DDR3 RAM :(

Depends on the SATA 3 card. I believe the card needs to have an additional BIOS chip to enable booting, which is usually missing on cheaper cards. I would not recommend going off the motherboard controller for a bootable drive. You already have a SATA 2 controller which is more than enough. Don't be under the false impression that you need a SATA 3 controller to see the benefits of an SSD. Which SSD are you considering?

You can get a USB 3.0 PCI-E card, but don't use it for the SSD.

Phenom II x4 is AM3 processor. Works in both DDR2 boards on AM2+ and DDR3 with AM3.

You can add SSD to Sata II port on the board. I agree that it doesn't make a difference at all during daily use unless you do a lot of massive sequential file transfer, which you shouldn't be anyway be doing on SSDs. Bootup time is less than a second off a SATA III port for the same disk, and application opening times remain the same.
