Recommend Digital Cam for 10-12k

Please recommend a good Digital cam in the 10-12k range. I want something which is not that bulky..

Please post your suggestions which offer good quality pics in this price range. Which will be a better brand in this range??

Canon are the best in Indian context- best after sale is provided by Canon in India- Nikon does not even have a India site. for around 12k- your choices are

I have this cam- this is compact and with image stablisation my favorite digicam, and a compact digicam with 4X optical zoom. see my review of this on mouthshut. It is slightly larger than IXUS 60- but more fully featured.

I was thinking about the IXUS 800 IS but only sify mall shows that price, the price at other places is close to 18-20k.

btw whats your experience with Sify.. how are their after sale service? warranty?
 
thanks for confirming... i was planning to buy the IXUS 800 IS from sify..

the prices in sify is almost equal to the US prices. no idea how they are able to sell at that price with india warranty...

has anyone bought cameras from sify before??
 
^^The biggest problem with IXUS is that it has no manual control whatsoever... no Av, no P, no Tv, no M :p. That basically puts it in the avoid category for me. Even a 130$ A530 has those.

A530 doesnt have all the four modes, but A540 have:D
