Hello! Building a new beast of a setup soon, with a 7900 XTX and a 7800X3D. I play a ton of competitive shooters, and dabble with story games once a while, to chill.

Building this PC to last me a good 8-10 years, hence the ridiculous specs :P

Any range of budget is fine, I'd definitely prefer it to be the least it can be without it being insulting though.

Thanks!

If money is not an issue, we do have 1440p 360 oleds now. Can look at that. Much better than ips - contrast/hdr is good for single player games.
Any of them might be good enough, so probably go for cheapest.

But if oled doesnt matter for you, then ips 360 would save you money. No idea about these.
I have also heard of very specialized TN panels - dayak from benq - which will give you best motion clarity ( very high fps + i think backlight strobing ). But will probably be not great for SP games.

4k 240 oleds would be better for single player and i think a good match for your gpu, but i guess you value fps more for competitive gaming,

Also new higher end gpus might be coming in early 2025. So this may not be best time to buy. But we still have many months to go for that ..

agreed! I'm probably holding out until their launch. But yeah, I do value fps over visual quality, so I'll probably go for a IPS panel. Thanks!

Check the specs on this bad boy.
yeah i forgot about this. This seems to be perfect as it covers both use cases. Check reviews, we have multiple monitors with this panel and see which releases here.
One thing to consider is whether he is comfortable with 32'' for competitive games. I have heard that most such gamers prefer smaller 21/24 screens.
For SP, 32 is great.

Look at the oled link heisen gave. It has two modes. 4k 240 and 1080p 480. So this is good for both.

Else if you really can benefit from all of this - then look at this. Its quite expensive too at high end, but has multiple options including 360. So you can chose what you prefer from 144 to ~500.

Or there is your typical ips 300 2k, i think from acer that was on sale for 20k recently. Now its much more.

Please do your own research too and look at reviews. I am not expert and i dont play MP these days.
