Recovering data from damaged SD card [Captivate]

I'm unable to access the SD card content in my Captivate as well as via PC.

I have few files that I would like to backup before I try the below option:

Is it possible to retrieve the data using some app/program? Already posted on xda, but yet to get any response..

I cannot see the image u posted as it is blocked in office... But u can try using power data recovery pro... How is ur SD card damaged??? Can u see it in the drive section when plugged into your comp or no???

was trying out couple of app from market, not sure which one did the damage. Anyway, it's not being listed in PC when connected via USB.

Looking for some data recovery app or may be through ADB - is that possible?

Via usb means the card is still inside your phone, i guess? Try putting it in a card reader or a cheap phone which supports microSD cards ( check for compatibility if your card is high capacity) and connect the phone to your pc, copy your files over, format the card after copying and copy the files back. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
Btw, that post on xda's talking about 'internal SD card" . If that's the case, ignore the above.
