Another PC exclusive WW-II based FPS makes it this September 13th (originally planned for August 30th). The game is the sequel to the highly acclaimed Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 which was released shortly after Call of Duty II. The game is based on the Battle of Stalingrad and will feature the music scored by Sam Hulick, the same music composer behind Mass Effect I & II. The first title however did not feature a SP mode.

Expecting this to be different from the traditional war-based FPS titles from the COD and MOH franchise. Will keep an eye out for this one! :)

I didn't heard about this game anytime before this thread

Probably because the first title was a MP only and was developed after the mod based on UT 2004. I am in the same boat as you. I came to know of this title after Aman had posted it on the Upcoming PC titles thread. Perhaps MP addicts may have heard/played the first one. :)

^^ Or probably because there are two AAA titles fighting for supremacy and this one Just pops out from within the dust cloud of COD vs BF fanboi wars. .

^^ This thing can't be played by fanboys [I mean they will not enjoy it], who love to run-n-gun their way through levels, it has a much more tactical angle as well [yes more than the Operation Flashpoint series, but still short of the ArmA line-up].

I'll like to try out this game, need to experience more tactical shooters with real life gun mechanics and physics [the last -- Operation Flashpoint: Red River = PHAIL].

And factoring in the Unreal Engine 3.0 angle this game should be playable on most systems.

The game is unforgiving at times and a lot of actions that would never lead to death in more mainstream shooters, like running through an open field without pausing for cover or entering a building without first peering around corners, leading to quick and unproductive death.

There are also some issues I have spotted, mostly weird behavior on the part of my squad mates, who often seem more interested in running around with their weapons holstered than in actively moving around to engage the enemy.

Fired up the game and I am afraid I'll have to skip this one as suggested by Freaky and Allwyn! :(

The AI is retarded alright and to top it all, the absence of the crosshair and the default HUD most of us are used to, makes it extremely hard and frustrating for the player. Crossed the training sequence without issues but the first chapter was insanely hard. the squad based team play is a joke! If the player dies, he is respawned as another member of the squad with a different weapon (for instance a sniper rifle or a MG). Wounds are treated using medkits but limited to 3 per player. The game is darn too realistic. I wished it had a plain no frills pussy mode with the crosshair and HUD.

This might however appeal to MP folks going by the reviews.

Brothers in arms road to hill 30, also had an option to remove crosehai, it was played better without it................I think this is a good game im going to get it.... But heard that it has some serious hardware issue,Is it so, Please let me know, coz for now i'm going to play it on dell xps gt540m laptop...

Plz suggest me on which one, should i play of the following:

1.Red orchestra 2.

Damn, I had hoped this would be a really good game. Too bad, will give this one a skip.
