Refrigerator suggestions

Returning to this familiar forum for help after years! I don't live in the country and am trying to help a friend who is visiting home for a few days, to buy a high end refrigerator for their new home.

Budget - unsure, but it sounds like they can spend up to 2 lac INR.

They have narrowed down on the Samsung 657L Spacemax Family Hub. Is this a good choice? Are there better options? Double-door multi-compartment is highly preferred. Least inconvenience. This is for elderly parents.

I remember LG being a more "reliable" brand compared to Samsung. Is that still the case?

Thank you!

PS: If it matters, this will be used by in Trivandrum.

I don't think that is still the case anymore as I have seen many buying Samsung refrigerator these days too and happy with it.
But you are right LG used to be more reliable but that was almost a decade back case.

1) How many members are there in the family? Do they actually need a big fridge?
2) You mentioned it is for elderly parents and you need least inconvenience well more features like ice maker/Ai assistant/displays will inevitably cause more failure points. Basically, Keep it simple.

Would suggest giving this video a watch:

Try to buy an older model of LG. The new models LG have serious quality control issues due to cost cutting
I had my fridge replaced twice due to noise issues from the compressor. This was a convertible model and made in India.
Afterback and forth returned and bought a older non convertible model made in Indonesia and it works well

How was the service ? when you try to replace it with them.

I mean did it take too long and struggle for you to convince them to provide the replacement.
