Regarding buying of XBOX 360

Hey frnds,
I want to buy one in Delhi but have no prior experience of consoles .
Please guide me which one to buy and where to buy in delhi , and its modding etc ?
Please suggest by ur own personal experience and provide a brief overview...

Modding is not recommended(i mean no warranty in case something happens to ur xbox then kabloom)....

Specify budget and whether you want 4GB model or HDD one with or without Kinect etc etc etc...
