Hello Seasonic,

Welcome to TE. Well, I purchased a SS-850AT and received it today. When i looked at the AC power connector there seemed to be no ground connector pin. Is this supposed to be this way or is it a manufacturing error? Posting a screenshot below. The model number is LINETEK LP 33. It is visible in the image.

Re: Regarding SS-850AT

Yash, the member is not yet here although he has registered already. He is in a business trip and will be back to Taiwan shortly after which he shall introduce himself in the forums. :)

If I may answer that query (since I received a similar cable with my M12D850W unit), these cables are meant to be used with the European sockets since they have the earthing pin on the socket and not the plug. Refer the snap in the wiki link above.

You can simply swap this cable with the cable of BS 546.

Well this is indeed a shortcoming from Seasonic's end since India doesn't use these sockets and we would as well receive cables that are ideally meant for our sockets. They can probably address this issue.

Thanks for the information. Will try once i get home.

It worked. Thanks Gannu. And Seasonic please take note of his statement.

Hello Yashchitale,

How are you? Nice to know you, sorry for my late response.

Regarding the power cord issue, actually before the shipment, we ever consulted with "India-Taipei Association, Taipei, Taiwan" and the cable vendor-- what kind of cable can be used in India? They told us there are three cables are suitable for use: 1. CEE7/16 ( finally we offer this one); 2. BS546 5A/M; 3. 15ADBS546.

If you think CEE7/16 cable is not suitable for India market, we will change to 15ADBS546 cable next time. Besides, if you want to get the the corret one, I will kindly ask our distributor Tirupati to send you the new one. Sorry for the mistake.
Warm regards

Clive from Seasonic

All three types are suitable, but the BS546 5A is the most appropriate.

The CEE 7/16 effectively becomes a 2 pin cable in Indian sockets (since the extended ground pin as in CEE7/16 sockets is not present), and for a PSU it is preferable to have a 3 pin connection , i.e. the BS546 5A.

I recently purchased a seasonic S12II 430 watt 80+ bronze psu.
The power cord they have given me doesn't has any ground pin in it(Linetek lp-33 power cord.see the image above.).
i have a volex IA6A3 6A/250V(written on the side which goes into wall outlet probably into my
ups back side and "Volex V1625 10A 250V~ VC"is written on the other connecting point side which goes into the psu) power cord.
Can i use this volex power cord with my seasonic smps mentioned above? i know that IA6A3 6A/250V is the same thing as BS546 5A but from the above post(s)
it is not clear to me if we can use BS546 5A power cord for other PSU's as well (particularly seasonic S12II 430 watt 80+ bronze psu) or not.
