CPU/Mobo Regular i5 and ultra low voltage ones

I gather that the ultra light laprops lik the MBA use the ULV ones which run slower - 1.7 GHz?. How much of a performance difference will I find between one at 1.7 versus the regular at say 2.3? Most CPU intensive task for me will be video encoding, and time will not be that much of an issue.

It just runs slower than the normal, but the battery life is much better, say around 2 hrs extra. Plus these are specifically binned chips also. Avoid these unless you need the extra battery life.
