Reinstalling Legit Windows 7 (Bought through ACM) on new hardware

Like a lot of ppl on TE, I had bought the legit win 7 copy through the ACM deal in June-July 2009.

The system on which this legit copy was installed has died because of a motherboard issue.

I wanted to what the procedure is if I want to install the same copy on the new system I'll be replacing this current one with.
Is this possible ? Or was the ACM copy only meant for a single install or something ?

If someone's done this before (hopefully with the key they got from the ACM) and could guide me what to do, i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

I have done this with Windows XP Professional. I had to reactivate windows over phone & they asked me if I had upgraded/modified my hardware.

I never had the chance/need of doing this on Win 7 though. I suppose you should contact Microsoft Windows Support before making any decision.

If you have the Key with you still, you can install it on any machine. If the activation puts up a red flag (which in most probability won't) you can call up Microsoft India and tell them that you upgraded your HDD and need to reinstall Windows.

^ neither. its a student version available for download only. acm is some online university i think. there was some offer where their students got a huge discount on windows software.
