Laptops Reinstalling windows or partioning ACER Laptop

I have bought a ACER 5745 and ther was not a single dvd in it not a single thing
Actually this my first laptop I never come across windows installation issues in LAPTOP
I have a few quries
1)If i have to clean install OS so what I need to do
2)If i have to partition hdd
Any suggestion related to the windows and driver in acer laptop
Precautions or tips to follow for OS crashes/virus infection/win corruption
Please i need to urgently repartition i am afraid to try anything >hoped it came without a operating system I am not able to enjoy a bit of the laptop.

1) You bought it off ebay or other online sites. Ask the seller to send the DVD.

2) Did it come with a windows license. There should be a sticker at the base with the license key. In case it's there you can format using any windows disk and entering the 25 digit alpha-numeric code.

3) Use EASEUS Partition Master - Download for partitioning. Used it and works well.

i had a similar problem with a HP laptop, and here's a great solution by 'Sabby' which will support all laptops which doesn't have an OS reinstall disc -

1st - Use Windows 7 in-built Drive Management for creating Partition. (shrink volume)

Resize a Partition for Free in Windows 7 or Vista - How-To Geek

2 - Create a image backup of the HDD, i used Acronis True Image to do that.

This way there's no need for "re-installing" Windows again & again, you can just restore the back-up image anytime you want.

no more activating/re-installing apps..., drivers...
