Hello Friends,

Just to increase me knowledge,

My electrician told me to keep fan speed low if I want to reduce my Electrical Bill Amount.

So is there any relation between Fan Speed and Consumption of Power (electricity).

Oh yes there is. Most definitely. What he said is very true. Power consumption is directly proportional to the speed. Half the speed is almost like half the power, but some is wasted in the regulator. So if you run it slower u will consume proportionately less power.

Not sure, but i think there should be!!

Like an idle pc consumes less power than one at full load!!
U may use a 500W PSU but idle load maybe 100W and at full load maybe 350-400W, depending upon your config!!

Any electrical device is rated for max power consumed!!

So a TV consumes full load irrespective of what channel u watch!!

Fridge and AC will consume depending on how much you load the compressor, meaning the cooling required!!

A bulb rated 100w will consume 100W but if you use a regulator to drop the illumination, less current flows across the filament, it heats less, so glows less!!
So its now consuming lower watts!!

Similarly a fan at a lower speed will consume lower power!!
At full speed, it will consume the full rating, whatever it was meant to!!

hmm i see.. so i should use the q-fan controller.. then.. :bleh

currently not using. dont need to. have dc all my fans.. cause of my friggin psu

now...once i was told by an electrican..............when u switch on fan u should keep the regulater to max...once its in full speed...u shd lower as per you requirment.......

he said...on start the fan consumes lot of power to move motor...and due to low power set up..lot of energy is wasted........
