Reliance 2G : Ideal Speeds on Huawei E303C ? But abnormally slow

Hi Guys,

What should be the optimum speeds that i should be getting on Reliance 2G networks ? Using Huawei E303C datacard and the maximum i'm getting is 70kbps ! :( Is there any setting which needs to be done ? I just got the SIM activated today only and the device is also brand new.

I'd read online before buying that i can expect speeds >150kbps on the 2G networks working on this datacard.

It's a widespread fact now that to promote 3G, telcos have crippled 2G speeds to max of around ~70-200 kbps. I used to get up to 29KB/s when 3G had just launched, but now-a-days, it has dropped to abysmal level of 15KB/s.

The only options which are available to you : Complain to CC; I had once done it and successfully got my speed back, just had to wait for 15 days, and 3 back-to-back complains.

Otherwise last resort, change service provider.

PS: Long time Reliance/Airtel GSM 2G user here.
 
I agree with Jugga, 2G speeds used to be always 150Kbps - 230Kbps For me.
Most of the Operators are Throttling the 2G speeds in Order to Promote 3G.
