Reliance or BSNL

Guys I have an option of choosing between Reliance wireline and BSNL BB.

I so far have experience of BSNL 750 UL. I know BSNL has good pings to Malaysia and Singapore servers but the speeds are not VFM compared to Reliance.

My Usage :


  • Steam downloads
  • Online multiplayer games like TF2, CS : GO
  • P2P ( private trackers )


I want to know about Reliance pings to Malaysia/Singapore/Russia/UAE where most of the servers I play are located. I like the Thunder plans from reliance with no FUP

Also please comment on the downtimes and Customer care of Reliance

As for the blockages I have access to VPS from where I have openVPN running and I may get ASUS RT N13U and dd-wrt it and python to run the auto login script

If there is anything else I need to know about Reliance wireline please post it

Whenever i do speedtest my pings are about ~200. But while playing farcry 3 multiplayer i never felt any lag. I am using reliance thunder 699 plan.
 
so the pings are bad in reliance wireline ?

what is the location of server you did speedtest to and also the location of farcry 3 servers
 
The speed test server was in mumbai, hosted by reliance. No idea about location of far cry 3 servers.
 
can you post ping results via cmd/terminal to the following IPs :

203.116.80.207

217.160.109.248

so that gives me an idea :)
 
:( thats really bad

1st one is at 77ms on BSNL (singapore/malaysia) and second one is 180ms (Netherlands)

looks like i may have to choose BSNL again despite low speeds
 
yea go for BSNL, i had learned lot of horror stories related to Reliance on down time..

BSNL service is ok ok, their plans are quite good but sometime their connection gets buggy
 
Reliance BB is good for downloading stuff off the internet. Not suitable for video streaming / online gaming / other purposes where QOS comes into focus. I am on Thunder 549 on temporary basis and the ping to the first server was Minimum = 119ms, Maximum = 126ms, Average = 121ms. The second server gave me Minimum = 217ms, Maximum = 232ms, Average = 222ms.
 
Guys Reliance is fine on ADSL I mean the pings atleast I have lot better in Nashik

Really nice pings similar to Bsnl for south east asia servers

Even netherlands is <200ms :D

yea the line guy promised pings are fine and offered a check at a store near my house having same plan. I verified and pings were good so took it right away
