Hey guys,

I've been using reliance for a year now and come this november i'l be required to renew my subscription with them.

However i'm not so sure if i should continue with them or not. Product reliability wise they have been very good and my connection has been stable throughout.

Their backend and customer support could do with a load of improvement however, but then again its the same with ALL RELIANCE services i've experienced.

Anyways my problem is i dont know if i should continue with their services because they have refused to come out with better plans at lower rates when everyone else seems to be reinventing their offerings.
currently i'm on a 600kbps unlimited plan for which i paid 6months in advance of about 8800/- if im not mistaken.
Having used a lot of higher speed services in other places, i wanted to know if there was anything better on offer by other ISP's?

Airtel i know doesnt offer their services in my area (wadala) in mumbai.. and im reluctant to go with MTNL.
does anyone know if there's any better that i can do? i honestly feel reliance have just neglected revising any of their Wimax offerings and 600kbps does seem a let down when at my gf's place even Hathway is offering a cheaper 1Mbps line with 700mb free download (suits her needs well)
can anyone suggest some better ideas, before i have to renew it

TIA!

Your only option is MTNL. Unfortunately here in Mumbai, we are limited to what we can get in our area as penetration of all wired ISPs except mtnl is very limited.

And I can assure you that you are better off with Reliance if you use torrents and private trackers. Its the only ISP here that offers 1:1 upload : download ratio.

^^ yeah mate.. thats the biggest reason im still sticking with them man!

but whats annoying me no end is that they're refusing to either reduce rates or upg the speeds man!

Hmm, I have just paid Nivyah broadband for their 1 mbps connection, but am not yet letting go of Reliance, am on the 400kbps wimax plan, and it has served me really well till now. But ofcourse, if reliability of Nivyah is decent, I am letting go, I am promised of double the speed, at half the rate I am paying right now...

i've got a Nivyah flyer via the local paperguy who delivers papers to my place. I took a good look at their offers too and it seemed enticing but didnt wanna spend on a second connection.

however if your feedback is good, could u let me know too and i'l consider switching.

Reliance's rates are just not going down well with me
