remote of O general AC

my friend's Videocon Split AC's remote stop working & when he inquire with authorized service center they quote Rs.1500/- (NO WARRANTY, not even checking warranty). He opt to buy from out side, after lot of hassle he found same model (but other brand) for Rs.700/- with 6 month warranty.

You need to keep your AC Model (best if you have Remote model number etc.) & other specs handy while buying Remote as there is different remotes for different brands & makes.
 
Where you from ?

In Mumbai we get local brand TV remotes for 100-300 approx. I guess an A/c remote should also cost in the same price band.

Try asking at local electronics repair shops...dont go in for the brand...just ask for any local brand...you will be better off in terms of the price....and you wont regret a lot in case you happen to loose this one as well !:p
