Hello Friends,

I has 3 emergency light & all went kaput after one by one over months. Now monsoon is near (I hope so... if not ditch this year too :( ) & moderate to heavy rain falls here in Mumbai always followed by power cut for few minutes to 1-2 hrs.

I need to replace batteries of emergency light from 1 BPL, 1 Bajaj & 1 China made. All are out of warranty so no service center attention.

Local guy ask Rs.250/- for each to replace battery & only 7 days warranty.

There are some Branded batteries available for Emergency Lights (hope all mfg. use similar power battery) :ashamed: with 6 months warranty.

So kindly suggest me brand, where to buy in Mumbai & price too.

Thanks :)

branded batteries from panasonic & CSB is available ,but will cost Rs.650 or more. You can opt for Sunca Brand(Rs.170)(Hong kong co),and if it its original will last 1-2 yrs max.

You can get a Chloride battery for emergency lights well within 200 bucks - it usually has 6 months warranty.

Chloride

Most Sunca batteries are duplicate - so, buy those if you know a trustable dealer.

^ wouldn't it be best if you opened up the rechargeable lights and note down the brand used as well as the voltage and AH used?

if you buy what we recommend without seeing how the battery looks like, you might end up with something different which will be of no use.

^^ thanks 6pack, will do same soon, now what brand to buy.

Please suggest site or brand name, will contact them with Voltage/AH specs for quote & availabilities. :)

Any genuine source in Mumbai for such type batteries?

TC :)

You will get batteries from the electronics spare parts shop @ Lammington Road. Go for Exide/Chloride. You will get warranty card with either Exide or Chloride battery. Most probably these batteries are of 6V, 4AH capacity.

BPL & Bajaj use 6 volt battery. Now does your emergency light made of miniature tube light or CFL.

In 6volt battery you do not have much of an option. But go for Exide or Panasonic. They are way better. It should cost you around 250 max
