My download rig's power supply fan was making a lot noise , so i decided to replace it, the power supply fan & the power supply pcb has a two pin connector like this Delta Electronics Quietek 80mm 12V 0 14A 2 Pin Connector SB0812M Freepost | eBay with black & red wires ,

I replaced it with this cooler master fan Theitdepot - Cooler Master 80mm Case Fan - 6 Pcs In 1 Box (SAF-S83-E1) , this has three wires red ,black, yellow

when i connected only the red black wires to the two pin slot the fan did not run , i connected red & yellow it started running, but with red & yellow connected the fans feels like its running very slowly, i cant feel any air coming out of the psu , am i doing some thing wrong?

Your fan will be toast soon. Red and black are power and if they don't work it's usually because they are reversed. Yellow is the rpm sensor wire.

Good Luck.

Reversed the wires , had to bend the pcb connector to fit the fan wires in reverse, fan running fast now
