When viewing a section, the first few lines of the first post in a thread show up in the tooltip for that thread. If you provide a summary in the first few lines of the first post, members can read it in the tool tip itself and then decide whether it's worth reading the full thread.

So consider putting all important info ( in brief ) in the first few lines.

Especially in the Members Market section. Eg first line :
Code:
FS: E5200, 1yr old, perfect condition, have bill / Mumbai / pickup + COD only / Rs 2700

You could avoid putting "Hi guys", "Want to sell", "Last year I ... ", links to pics, links to product specs, in the first few lines.

Edit : See this http://www.imgx.org/files/55307_jknn0/precis.png.

But there are people who still don't even bother attaching proper pics in a fs thread. So I think it is going to be pretty hard to get all members to follow the format for the convenience it provides.

Its already there right?

(List of items to sell with prices)

Just under the title of the thread?

BTW This is the first time I have seen the word "precis" used outside of a school...
