Folks, I was on the lookout for a dual standby sim phone. Following were the options presented to me

1) Samsung Guru Dual (2152)

2) Samsung C3212

3) Samsung C5212 for Rs 4,650/- to Rs 4,800/-

4) LG GX300 for Rs 5,000/- to Rs 5,200-

I've read positive feedback on Samsung's dual sim phones.

But the GX300 has

1> a 1500 mAh battery as opposed to the 1000 mAh battery on the C3212 and the C5212.

2> 2 Megapixel camera with flash as opposed to the 1.3 megapixel camera on the C5212 and the VGA camera on the C3212(both the samsung phones do not have flash).

Since 2 SIMs need to be active, I think the GX300 would make a better buy but knowing the quality of LG phones, I'm a little worried about buying one. Do you think the GX300 makes a good buy?

I have LG GX200 and am fully satisfied with it. No problem with build and excellent battery.....I get around 10 days with moderate usage.

That's really good and reassuring. I figure that since two SIMs need to be active, the power drain on the battery will be twice that of a regular phone with a single SIM. Hence my interest in the LG.

OT: I don't understand Samsung's trend to sell phones with camera but without flash in their low end and even mid range phones like the Galaxy 3 . (It's like they don't even care that they are providing a camera).

I thought they were trying to improve their brand image with the Wave and the Galaxy S. Wonder who the wise guy in samsung marketing was who came out with this brilliant no flash idea .

did a maket research and found out that Samsung Guru Dual (2152) - model no 35 n 26 are not true dual sim active phone i.e the other sim will not be activated when ur on call n thus the other person will get not reachable msg.

Bw sydras which phone did u buy?

@saurabhnarula - Thanks for the update but I did not get what 35 and 26 means. I've put off my purchase decision for a while until some better options in dual sim phones become available.

I wanted to opt for a dual sim to take advantage of the call offers available from service providers (other than Vodafone or Airtel) but I now want a higher end dual sim phone where I can make use of a data plan.

Good to know that you're happy with your purchase :D. Btw, wha't the capacity of the battery. How's the call quality?

Now, get a nice cheap SIM2, call from SIM2 and receive on SIM1. That way, your mobile number does not change when folks try to reach you on SIM1 and you can call them back cheap on SIM2 :hap5:.

call quality is good, network reception is good in both the sims, both sims are active at the same time, battery is 950 mah, will last at least 3-4 days without charge, I am hoping.
