Some help from the techie guys? My wife's Samsung S2 is dying. She loves it because the text is large enough for her to read without her glasses, so she can see it while riding etc. The newer phones have a higher res screen, and that's why I presume text becomes smaller? True? If so, if I find a phone with the similar pixels per inch, will the text size be similar? The specs of the display is as follows:

DISPLAY Type Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size 480 x 800 pixels, 4.3 inches (~217 ppi pixel density)

So, if I get 800*480 or thereabouts, will the text be as big? My phone is 1280*720 [Moto G 4.5" screen] and she finds the text small.

However today I saw a friends Galaxy Grand 2 which has 1280*720 on a 5.25" screen and the incoming calls etc were large enough for her.

I see a Panasonic P61 which has same 1280*720 but on a 6" screen. Will that also give large fonts? Or is font size dependant on the Samsung modification of the OS?

Most new android phones have font settings in them whereby one can change the font size from small to huge and the actual font itself. So even if the resolution is high one can pick a font size which is comfortable for one to read.

^^Does not make the font big enough for my wife, especially to see the name of the incoming call.
Make a note of which font and the size she uses on the S2.

Then try the same on another phone or more, try it on a tab too.

Can you confirm whether there is a correlation ?

ppi or screen size has nothing to do with what size its displayed at. Rather it affects how crisp and how much you can see in one line.
