Hello,
Is there any way to put restriction on the Usage of Bandwidth for/on the Router connected to various Devices????
i.e if Router is providing 2Mbps, then to restrict its bandwidth(Speed) up to 1Mbps for a particular(Single) device???
So that all devices get there Fair Share................i.e equal Speed/Bandwidth.......

Dunno if it can be limited through router but yes u can limit it through ur pc by using various software available. For ex- if u download from utorrent then u can limit ur max download speed by right clicking on the downloading speed it shows on the bottom bar. If u download files from online servers (direct download) then u can limit the speed in download accelerators like getright, IDM, etc :)

More details guy..more details

You are referring to your work place I presume, if so, what router are you using?

For bandwidth management its better to do it via your Internet Acceleration and security server/proxy server..i.e MIcrosoft ISA 2004/2006 :P

Again, if what I said above is true and you use it, then you need the following add-on for your ISA server "Bandwidth Splitter"

I manage the bandwidth on our 100MBPS link through that.

You can divide bandwidth between each IP, create groups, quotas etc.

Cheers.
