hi Guy's,

I want to upgrade my system. my current system is

Intel e7200

galaxy mobo. I think 6100

ram ddr2 1.5gb

palit hd4850

andyson 550w

Samsung 19" LCD

I am looking for upgrade for CPU+mobo+ram

option 1: sell of current CPU,mobo, ram (warranty is over for all)

option 2: sell of mobo and ram, and get ddr3 based mobo and ddr3 ram.

I am in confusion, my budget for upgrade is around 7000, looking forward to your suggestions.

if I want to sell off components, how much can I expect?

thanks in advance

first sell off your older components.. you may get 3-4k for the mobo and cpu. 1k for ram..

overall keep a budget of 11k. and get these

i3 2100- 6.5k

intel h61- 3.5k

ddr3 4gb- 1.6k

You are set for another two years..

this should be a decent update in the given budget.

^^ Don't look at AMD as they have flopped miserably on the performance front with the Bulldozer hype they generated.

As #mrcool63 suggested, sell of your old components and raise some more capital for your upgrade, here is what I suggest --

Intel Core i3 2100 ~6200/-

MSi DH67-BL ~5800/- OR MSi H67MA-E35 ~4800/-

Corsair 4GB x 1 ValueRAM module ~1100/-

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

@alpha17: any particular reason for this mobo.... i can get asus mobo for 2700 after applying 200 off ebay coupon...

lamington shot are close today?? i tried calling two shops but no answer!

#ashu the Gigabyte motherboard I feel is the best from the point of view of motherboard layout [components, PCi-E slots, SATA ports et al] and pricing and the overall service arm of Gigabyte is solid.

Go for the Gigabyte motherboard, and flipkart.com has a good delivery system too, with CoD payment option so win-win for you.

thanks alpha, i was also thinking the same........... also thinking of corsair value ram from flipkart ........ what you say?

^^ Yep!! grab Corsair ValueRAM can you tell me the pricing if possible, although Corsair has great value and a very strong after sales arm. If you are in a major metro buying the RAM from the local PC market will turn out cheaper [it will involve you travelling though].

By the way #ashu where are you staying and Happy Republic day.
