Review of Sony Ericsson W550i by techtree

For around Rs. 15,000, this is a good buy if you're really into the whole Walkman thing (the logo is SO cool) - it offers good music and FM playback features, a great camera with video playback, drag and drop USB connectivity and other features in a very cool looking Walkman-branded phone. Probably the only things that stick out like sore thumbs are the fact that it doesn't offer any means of adding on to the somewhat limited 256MB of memory that the phone offers, and the fact that you can't plug in your favourite headphones into a standard 3.5mm stereo jack on the phone. If you can live with around three audio CDs worth of music to rock your day and the provided earphones, get the W550i Walkman phone today.

Wonderful Phone... Except that the phone That I saw in a local shop was full orange in colour..The white featured at techtree looks rather much better!

arnd 16k was quoted fr this phone without bil or anything.... maybe it's better to put up 2k more and go fr K750i but then u hav to spend 2k extra fr 256 pro card......so 20k fr k750 and 16k fr this baby!
 
nice fone..and if i am not wrong...i think we can connect our std headfones using the extension cable that is available in any cellfone shop..
atleast we can do that for the k750i.

edit: its given in the pic itself :S the place near the mic has a 3.5mm connector..i have the same cable..one can attach std headfones to it
 
its 15k with bill and 1 year warranty :P , just enquired yesterday at a local phone shop . The biggest gripe that it doesnt have expandable memory i.e no memory slot .

Yup..thats why the lines in the review sulking about not being able to attach other earphones/headphones have been stuck off :).

On another note, Is this phones sound quality better than Nokia 6681??
I'd rather buy the 6681 and a 1 GB Memory Card than be stuck with the limited memory.

^^ hehe when did that happen?..dint see the lines when i posted and DC the sound quality is really really good...comes with 4 band eq and with a great pair of headfones (somehow the bundled sony ones keep failing at full volume...already replaced twice.)..it rocks.
the best part?..the so called "airplane mode" where u can listen to music without turning the communications part of the fone on.
 
16k bit too much for a 1.3 mp and limited memory and no symbian, no sound in vid record and all....if it falls toaround 12.5-14k, it sell because of its style and shape.
