Reviving a dead Buffalo WHR-G125 router

Hey people.. me again :D

I would want to try reviving my dead buffalo (WHR-G125). Think its bricked, but whats the harmtrying ;).

I got it loaded with DD-WRT generic mega v24. Now, i can actually ping it(192.168.1.1) and work on the console, but no network connectivity. Restored the settings to default, tried resetting the device million times. Also tried different ways to revive i.e: pressing the reset button for 30 seconds and pulling out the power cord with the reset button still pressed. Re-plugged the power cord and then after 20 seconds relieved the reset button.

It just doesnt show the router light. The only lights i can see are the wireless and power. I have tried many more things which i cant think of right now.
Do let me know if there are any other ways to make it ...... Mooo :)
Regards,
BTE a.k.a Anish

Yes there are lots of more 'undiscovered' features which will be unlocked when you put tomato on it, but dont expect things like getting better signal strength and all. But you can surely use it in WDS mode.

Ok, router going to rushabh as he stays in mumbai.. would be best for me to hand it over to him.. will let you people know what the out come is... thanks for all the interest guys :)

Hmm i dont think im gonna open the router unless i have to jtag, because it will void the warranty. And as anish said that it is pingable so the tftp should mostly work, so i will give it a shot when i get free time and then see what the outcome is.

i somehow cant open as i dont see any screws on this.. i can force it open but i dont really want to break anything :(

No need to do all that jazz. BTW amarbir the PCB should be very similar to the linksys WRT54GL's because it is based on the same broadcom chipset right ? And there are lots of pics available for the PCB of the linksys router..

Agreed, my modus operandi as well. If its pingable its alive, all that is needed is a nice flash, it will come back to life.
