Hi guys,
So long story short, my desktop isn't booting up. Well, it does for some time (say 1-4 hours), throws up BSODs and shuts down.
This has been happening since the past year or so. What happens is the system boots totally randomly, and 8 times out of 10, it will go till the desktop, followed by an immediate BSOD. Normally the error is "Memory Management", but I've got "NTFS FS error" once in a while.
Sometimes the desktop might run fine for 2-4 hours, but eventually it BSODs.
Another issue is the one of the GC screw directly lies over one of the RAM Slot B. It sometimes pushes it downwards, loosening the slot lock. Because of this, I can only install RAM in Slot A (0 and 1).
Things I've tried:
1) Changed RAM 4 times (G-Skill and Transcend). Finally using just a single stick of RAM in Slot A0.
2) Changed HDD twice.
3) Tried reinstalling OSs, from Win XP to Win 8. Every single one of them gives the same errors.
None of these helped in long term.
My config is an Intel DP55WG with a Core i5-750 and an XFX HD 4950. PSU is Cooler Master Extreme 600.
From what I've experienced, it's either a MB issue or a PSU issue. I cannot rule out the GC also as the Intel mobo has no iGP.
Since I don't have any spare items to rule out the bigger components, I'm thinking of getting them all RMA-d. If the product is working, I'll get it back as it is, else will get it replaced.
Have already applied for Intel RMA. How should I go about for the PSU and GC ? IIRC, XFX is by Rashi and I've heard nothing but horror stories about them.
Alternatively, I'm from Lucknow and if somebody from the same place is kind enough to help me out in finding the erroneous component, I'll be highly thankful.
Also, 5th RAM screwed. Running Memtest from a DVD keeps on throwing errors. :annoyed:
Edit: @kartikoli is from Lucknow IIIRC. Any idea on the RMA details bro ? Also @ALPHA17, any suggestions ?
