Rocker Master RM 190

Rockfella

Total bliss!
ex-Mod
Hi all,

After selling my CM 690, got impatient after getting to know that the CM Elite 341 will take one more month to arrive, doing open air is risky as my dog is notorious for pissing at the wrong places/thing , hence picked up his old Intex cabinet lying around in a nearby cyber cafe for Rs. 250. Cleaned it and did the deed. Please comment.

Somehow i was able to fit a 80mm fan on the side panel.

Since the VX450 bottom intake fan is directly over the Intel HS, it sucks in all the hot air and is getting very warm to touch. Its actually warmer than what it used to be playing 3-4 hours continiously on ATI 4850! Is it serious???

Please comment, i think it will serve me good for a month, if the heat issues doesnot give me any problems i might never buy another cabbie which i intended to buy lol.

Tia.

Is the exhaust fan of the PSU directly facing the processor? In that case, that may be a bit dangerous as the hot air is being pushed from both the ends.

The side fan might not prove so useful but it sure looks nice when its lit up :p

Otherwise a neat setup :)

Yes, the 120mm fan of the VX450 is directly over the intel heat sink and it sucks hot air, gets warmer than it used to after gaming non-stop on 4850 for 4-5 hours. I will try to drill some holes and try to fit it the other way round and mod the side panel so that fresh cold air gets in the PSU. :) The GT fans makes a difference of 5 degrees in the temps to my surprise.

Nice, clean :), change side fan to exhaust. Do U want 230mm fan ? I say remove that plastic thingy and U will have 200-230mm fan slot, add HAF 932 110CFM fan there :p.

Also its ATX ready case, lots of free space below mobo. U can keep VX 450 there, bottom mounted :p, power cord will pass via PCI vents.

The iNTEX cabby in picture have worst placement for SMPS.Why you wasted 250/- on junkyard item :Comp9: :crash: you could have bought brand new case @ 400/- with provision of 120MM fans inside and normal placement of SMPS on top.

Anyway i liked clean cable management work, you are really a talented person.

1+ for virus's comment  u could have bought zebby bijli etc , much better than this , even cheap zebby models are 500 bux without smps :p

I did, now the PSU fan intake is reversed, sucking cold fresh air, cpu temps down by 7-8 degrees, psu doesnot feel hot or even warm at all now. I will try to make a huge 120mm round on the side panel so that even when the panel is closed PSU sucks in cold air. Where to buy 230mm fan? I think its not important as i currently have one one hdd, low end gpu and prolly wont upgrade for a long time. Will try to mod it and have a 80mm top vent for the cpu as well, cpu has no exhaust! Thanks man.

I will post latest pic with the changed PSU setting, i tell u now its current setting is even better than the top mounted PSU cabinets we have these daysl.

I saw some Zebronics Rs. 800-700 cabinets, they had horrendous build quality man, can never buy that! This Rs. 250 cabinet is made of steel thicker than Elite series  + i love the compact size, Elite 341 = Rs. 2000 VS Rs. 250.. no brainer!

Pretty neat:p

i just need front audio ports and i will use it forever i think. My LCD has 4 usb ports so thats not a problem, but audio ports is a must, so trying to make arrangements for that.

Only 2 screws fit but that solves the purpose

Not perfect but works

Psu fixed!

This is where i will make a huge hole for PSU's bottom intake

Here to make a hole for a 80mm fan

Here to be precise

On top here... for exhaust

Not bad for an el cheapo cabbie.

how wud u make those cuts??

i wanted to do somethin similar for my old machine..

but the guys at a near buy workshop asked for 200 bux for 120 mm fan hole and the 4 screw holes.

I bought this cabinet for 250 bucks, i dont care if i spend Rs. 500 on modding it, i like its compact size and design very much. Rs. 200 is way too much, will keep u updated.

I drilled 20 + holes for the PSU air intake and managed to make hole to fit a 80mm fan on top. Load temps dropped by 15 degrees and there is no heat build up now!!
