I wanna buy a Modem cum Router or Router & Modem separately

Router should be a IEEE802.11n, extremely high range, a wall killer & easy to setup/open ports
Modem should be extremely reliable & stable

Budget: 5k for both

Just today i placed an order for a Linksys AM300 ADSL modem with EMALLDIRECT. check this out......very decent price too.

my opinion is that its one buggy modem. try running a torrent client and modem hangs within 5mins even if there aren't to many connections.
bought it cos i thought linksys products were rock stable like the wrt54g.

I need zero heat & capability to handle many connections to pc

I'm using the Linksys AM200, running the latest firmware. Rock-solid stability. Constantly running, with torrents downloading around 85-90% of the time. Great modem.

The router I'm using is the Linksys WRT610N. Unfortunately, considering your budget of 5k for both, this would be out of the question. I would suggest the Linksys WRT400N which is also a simultaneous dual band Wireless N router. Or even the WRT320N if you need gigabit ethernet ports.

Buffalo WHR-G300N is not exactly a wall-buster. I have it (with the DD-WRT firmware). I barely manage to surf beyond 2 walls. It is excellent in the next room (seperated by one wall) on my 2nd PC. The modem is a China made Ut300R2U model provided by MTNL.
I am on the 512 unlimited triband Rs.999/- bandwagon. I basically wanted a stand-by modem (hence the Linksys AM300 purchase), when existing modem heats up (not often though, thankfully).

Yep, AM200 + WRT400N will work out.

If it's available yet, you can also look at the Linksys WAG320N. It's a gigabit N-series modem + router with an integrated USB port for storage devices! Pretty neat. Very recently launched. Couldn't even find it on Newegg.
