We have often heard how people who dare to speak against the powerful or dig into corruption are harassed. Different mechanisms are used to silence them. This time Delhi police have declared an RTI Activist Harpal Rana mentally ill owing to the loss of his son. But his son is still alive.

Are they also including the cost of fitting the cameras into that 227 Cr. figure? This needs to be figured out first.

Even including the fitting cost, 6 Lac/ camera is way bloated.

While not directly comparable, 6 lac is the total quotation we got for setting up a CCTV network in our township and it included 108 cameras + equipment (DVR, switches, Hard disks, cabling, etc) + installation.

Even the costly Full HD IP camera options were around 30k per camera (camera + other equipment)

we get gopro 4k action cameras now in that 30k figure. Govt circulars for stuff is itself just for show. everything goes to nearby contacts who over estimate everything because they have to bribe 10 people in between. the cost of camera will be 10k but with 10 other people wanting a percentage of the contract, the price eventually increases like this.
